All about the gardening system in Genshin Impact 2.0 – how it works, what you can grow

With the release of patch 2.0 in the game Genshin Impact a new gardening mechanic will appear, which will allow you to grow a variety of vegetables and flowers for further use in crafting. In this guide, we’ve gathered for you all the relevant information about the new feature, so you can know ahead of time what to prepare for.

When Update 2.0 will be installed on the main Genshin Impact servers, a new region of Inazuma will appear in the game – this is where you will have to grow crops. To access the gardening tutorial you need to raise your reputation with Inazuma to level 3. NPC Madarame Hakubei will then give you your first batch of seeds and will unlock the “Art of Gardening” quest.

How to use the seed chest

If you encounter Lady Pin, you will be rewarded with a Seed Chest for successfully completing the quest (a quest in which you must simply seek out a native plant of Inazuma). Equip it from your inventory, after which you will be able to get their seeds while collecting plants on locations.

How to Get Seeds at Genshin Impact

Seeds can be obtained not only by collection, but can also be bought freely. To do this, you will need to find Tunny in the Kettle of Serenity (will appear after the release of Inazuma) and select the “Treasure House” tab. There, look for the “Creatures of the Abode” item, where you’ll be presented with a list of available purchases. The list is updated periodically, so if you don’t find the seeds you need today, you can wait until the timer at the bottom of the screen has counted down the time left before the update.

How to Plant Seeds

Once you have a certain amount of seeds at your disposal, they can be planted on a special field, which can be purchased in the same “Mansion Creatures” tab. At the start of the update, Genshin Impact will have three types of fields (Jade Field, Luxuriant Glebe, and Orderly Meadow), each of which will allow you to grow certain types of plants:

After buying a field, you will need to place it on the ground by selecting a suitable area. When you do this, your plot will also show up on the mini map, making it easier to interact and monitor crop growth.

Up to four plants can be planted per area, so use space wisely. Each seed a certain amount of time to mature after planting, during which you can replace it with another plant (the previous seed will be lost forever).

When a Plant Matures in a Field

Once you’ve planted, walk up close to the field to see how long it takes for a plant to mature. When the timer runs out, you’ll need to return to your plot and manually harvest your crops, after which you can plant the following crops in the field.

What can be planted in Genshin Impact

As mentioned above, Update 2.0 will give us three types of fields dedicated to planting different plants. Next we will describe exactly what you can grow in a particular field, and what the resulting material is used for.

• On the jade field you can grow: radishes, mint, carrots, cloud peppers, wallflower, mushroom, sugar flower, glowwort grass;
• The Fertile Plot grows: wind aster, glazed lily, glass bells, sakura flower, mulberry, Qingxin flower, and sessile;
• In Tidy Meadow you can grow: calla lily, seaweed, sea mushroom, lion’s teal, lotus cup, ponytail.
